It is a big job with a big salary and the recruitment process is now underway for the appointment of a new Chief Constable for the Police Service of Northern Ireland. It comes three weeks following Simon Byrne's resignation. The closing date for applications is Monday 16th October. The Policing Board has published a lengthy booklet about the job, and the skills which the successful applicant will need.
