Former West Brom and Southampton defender Pedro 'Pele' Monteiro is continuing to make an impact away from the pitch. Pele and his wife Jo have fostered over 70 children since first deciding to foster 10 years ago when he was playing for Southampton. Now a school teacher, the former Cape Verde international has teamed up with his former club to encourage those who can to become foster carers Pele tells Sportshour’s Caroline Barker why they decided to foster, the “amazing” feeling of seeing the children they foster smile, and how some are following his football skills.
