How do you keep ice rinks frozen and the fans cool, without adding to climate change?
Not by the PlaybookAvailable for over a year
More and more we are hearing from athletes who are concerned about the environment and using their platform to raise awareness. Ice hockey player Jacquie Pierri, is in a unique position to combine her sporting career and her studies off the ice, of the ice. Jacquie plays professionally in Italy for EV Bozen Eagles, but she's also a climate scientist who happens to specialise in refrigeration! She told Sportshour's Caroline Barker "if sport can be a model for a greater life, each person does make a difference. In a hockey locker room, someone who has a negative attitude can bring down the whole team... So, I don't think people should underestimate how much their individual action can have a ripple effect and really make change." Photo: Detail view of a hockey puck on the ice. (Credit: Getty Images)
