Texas and Sharleen Spiteri coming to Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester

Chance Litchfield

Available for over a year

Texas and Sharleen Spiteri are just one of the acts heading to Leicester as part of the BBC Radio 2 in the Park music event this September. They'll join Kylie Minogue, Tears for Fears and James Blunt over two days at Leicester’s Victoria Park on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September. The event will be the network's first flagship event since Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park in 2019 which featured performances from Pet Shop Boys, Westlife and Clean Bandit. Texas were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee and took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas. Ahead of her performance at this year's Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester on Saturday 16th September, singer Sharleen Spiteri tells BBC Radio Leicester's Chance Litchfield what she's most looking forward to.
