How do you decide which life to save first? There are around 700 people waiting for liver transplants across the UK. But there’s a shortage of donors. So a computer algorithm picks which patients to prioritise on the waiting list. The idea is to save the sickest people and they are usually older. But it’s leaving some young people waiting for years. For this episode of our 5 Minutes On podcast, the BBC's Catherine Burns, went to meet a young woman whose life is on hold, while she sees other people getting valuable donor organs before her.
