Leicester Caribbean Carnival to be 'Out of this World'

Ben Jackson on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

A Leicester dance troupe is making final preparations for this year's Caribbean Carnival. Community youth group 'Can't Blame Da Youth' have been preparing their costumes for the parade, as well as rehearsing an 'Avatar' themed routine around this year's Carnival theme 'Out of this World'. Leicester's Caribbean Carnival has been a highlight in the city calendar since 1985, and is said to be the UKs biggest of its kind outside London's 'Notting Hill Carnival'. This year's event is taking place this Saturday 5th August. BBC Radio Leicester Timi Komolafe has been to meet members of 'Can't Blame Da Youth' at Leicester's African Caribbean Centre to find out how rehearsals are going.
