Dorchester former Marks and Spencer to become shopping emporium

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

A new scheme for Dorchester's former Marks and Spencer's is giving up-and-coming businesses a chance to get on the high street. Premier Inn announced it would turn the building, which once held an M&S food and clothing store, into a hotel earlier this year. But while they draw up plans, they're allowing local businesses in to use the space as up to 10 different independent retailers. Our reporter George Sharpe met with Martin Green, the local business owner behind the idea, to take an imaginary tour of what it might look like. Steve Harris speaks to Martin Green and Matilda Manley from Dorchester Town Council.
