Sixties Models

The Reunion

Available for over a year

Icons of their age, the likes of Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, Anoushka Hempel and Joanna Lumley turned heads wherever they went and were invited to all the great gatherings of the period mixing with members of the aristocracy as well as the stars of the rock and fashion world. From the opening of Biba to now famous Vogue shoots, the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park, and endless parties on the Kings Road, they will be recalling those heady days and reflecting on where they have travelled since. Sue is joined in the studio by Celia Hammond, who was Terence Donovan’s favourite; Jill Kennington famously did photo shoots at the North Pole, Edina Ronay, dubbed the British “Brigitte Bardot” posed for both David Bailey and Donovan, and the self-styled six foot uber-vixen Verushka stole the film in that wonderful period piece “Blow Up”. Joining them is the woman who put them all on the front cover on many occasions Marit Allen, then the pioneering Fashion Editor of Vogue’s Young Ideas. Produced by Kate Taylor and David Prest. Series Producer: David Prest The Reunion is a Whistledown Production for BBC Radio 4
