Available for over a year

Each year, millions of kilogrammes of human hair waste ends up in landfills or incinerators. But according to a 31-year-old designer based in the Netherlands, that hair could be used to help the fashion industry become more sustainable. Zsofia Kollar has developed a way to use the waste keratin protein fibre from human hair and develop textiles with zero negative impact on the environment. For 5 Minutes On, our correspondent in the Netherlands, Anna Holligan, has been to meet Zsofia and a woman who's donated all of her hair to the project. Anna then tried on one of Zsofia's jumpers made from human hair - and gave her verdict. (Image credit: Getty)
