'Within minutes the whole building was ankle deep in water'

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

A GP surgery which serves 13 thousand patients is still completely closed after being badly damaged by floodwater following last week's storms. Water poured through the roof of the East Leicester Medical Practice on Uppingham Road. Surgery managers are hoping to set up temporary consulting rooms over the next week and patients are being redirected to the NHS 111 service. Professor Azhar Farooqi is the local GP and explains to Ady Dayman the extent of the damage, and what this means for patients of the practice.
