Brandon Stadium housing plans to be reviewed

CWR Breakfast with Phil Upton

Available for over a year

Nearly seven years after Speedway at Brandon came to an end, a meeting later this week will see the future of the site being looked at by a government planning inspector. It's after the owners of the Brandon Stadium lodged an appeal against Rugby Borough Council's decision to refuse planning permission to build 124 homes, a football pitch and club house. The stadium is currently derelict and has been targeted by vandals and arsonists for a number of years. BBC CWR presenter Phil Upton spoke to Jeff Davies from the campaign group Save Coventry Speedway, and Councillor Tony Gillias, who had put forward the notice of motion to explore other options available to bring Brandon Stadium back into use.
