'There's still so much stigma around mental health'

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

We often hear about the strain mental health services are under, but there's soon going to be more help for people in a crisis. 'Crisis Cafes' provide a safe and welcoming place for people to attend when they're struggling with their mental health. They act as an alternative to A&E and provide support in a non-clinical environment. Ten more of them where you can go and get support, without a referal from a GP, are going to be opening across Leicester and Leicestershire. BBC Radio Leicester's Conor O'Grady has been to Leicester's Peepul Centre, one of the places where the service is already up and running, and Ady Dayman talks to Rehana Sidat - the Founder of Jamila's Legacy - who is setting up one of the cafes in East Leicester.
