Social workers involved in a bereavement support group in Coleraine have said it is helping to alleviate pressures in GP practices. The widows and widowers group meets every fortnight and is growing in numbers. The group was set up as part of the work by multi-disciplinary teams in doctors’ surgeries in the Causeway GP federation. BBC News NI's North-East Reporter Maria McCann met some of the group members during a visit to a garden centre, to find out more. GMU also heard from social work lead, Alex Larsen, about why the initiative is helping to ease pressures on GP surgeries.
