'We're on our guard all the time'

Ben Jackson on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

Rural crime is an issue for large areas of the country but can often go unreported. It can impact on insurance premiums, food prices and damage local communities. Equipment and tool security can be a particular issue for rural businesses and farms. Other incidents can also fall under environmental crime, which covers illegal waste dumping, fly tipping, polluting watercourses and land. Ben Jackson joined police officers Rob Cross and Kelly Tomes from Leicestershire Police's rural policing team to find out the issues they're faced with every day on the beat.
