"We shouldn't be putting protestors in prison."

Ben Fryer

Available for over a year

Two protestors who climbed the QEII Bridge at the Dartford Crossing will be sentenced on Thursday 13 April. Morgan Trowland from Islington and Marcus Decker will be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court after being found guilty of causing a public nuisance when they secured themselves to the cables of the bridge, 60 metres above the ground, in October 2022. The pair were protesting on behalf of Just Stop Oil, and their action resulted in the bridge being closed for 40 hours. BBC Essex speaks to Brontie Ansell, a senior lecturer at the University of Essex's Law School and a co-founder of Lawyers for Nature.
