The rise of chatbots

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

From Amazon's Alexa, to Apple's Siri, or OpenAI's ChatGPT, an estimated 80% of us now use chatbots - whether they are responding to us verbally, or via written text. In fact, chatbots are now said to be the fastest-growing way in which brands communicate with their customers. Currently, in their relative infancy, they can carry out tasks for us like answering questions, writing emails and completing a student's online homework... so what does the future of chatbots look like? Artificial Intelligence specialist Joe Allnutt and Dr Hari Mohan Pandey from the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence department at Bournemouth University joined Radio Solent's Steve Harris to discuss the pros and cons on the future of society.
