Cassandra - The Ukrainian play

Chris Mann

Available for over a year

Cassandra is a Ukrainian play, translated by Nina Murray, and touring Cambridge. Written by Ukraine's pioneering feminist writer, Lesia Ukrainka, the play retells the story of the Trojan war from Cassandra's perspective. Chris is also joined by Kateryna Darchyk a 21-year-old translator who arrived in Cambridge in September 2022. Originally from the Zhytomyr region, she was residing in Kyiv and was displaced as a result of the russian invasion. After the full-scale invasion, she started taking active part in demonstrations and cultural events to raise awareness about the current war in Ukraine and the support her country needs to win.
