According to the Selective Mutism Information and Resource Association, it is thought that there are as many as 1 in 140 people who suffer with Selective Mutism. 19 year old Jessica is a confident young woman who is training to be a nanny. But she hasn't always been confident. When Jessica started school aged four, her teachers noticed that her extreme shyness was holding her back. Hear her story how she overcame selective mutism and is now teaching others how to communicate. Samantha Crowfoot is a Speech and Language Therapist with Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust, she told Lorna Bailey about the local services that are available.
