'Urgent plea' for help for swimming pools, amid energy crisis

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

Cast your mind back to your earliest memory of going swimming. Whilst some might be lucky enough to think of a resort pool on holiday, for most of us, those first times happened at the local swimming baths. But now, with the rise in energy prices only looking to increase, there are concerns that the high cost of running them, means more and more of our local swimming pools are disappearing. Not only do they provide a great place to have fun and exercise, but learning to swim is a skill that can literally save your life. Merseyside Olympic-medal winning swimmer, Andy Jameson, is joining others to call on the government to help save community pools.
