But now there are concerns from some charities that smart meters are causing anxiety. It's a condition where you repeatedly check your device, you worry about what it means for your finances and it leaves you feeling out of control. BBC CWR's Vic Minett asked people in Coventry and Warwickshire what it's like having a smart meter.
