''We feel settled in Leicester, we are blessed'

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the expulsion of thousands of Asians from Uganda who were given just 90 days to leave the country by dictator Idi Amin. Thousands came to Britain, and many made Leicester their home despite being told not to come by the city council. Balwant Mistry was one of those who came just a few months before the announcement was made. The rest of his family were part of the exodus. So, was it like for people like Balwant and his family who had never really celebrated Christmas before? Hear his family's story.
