Ben Jackson on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

Leicestershire's gritters are set to be back in action to deal with icy roads. A fleet of 23 lorries with dozens of drivers and snow wardens are on standby as temperatures are set to drop once again over the next few days. Tom Vesty, works manager for Highways at Leicestershire County Council, explains to Ben Jackson that when it snows the team can get through 1,000 tonnes of grit a day to keep the roads clear for motorists.
