Latest figures as of Friday 9 December show there are 21 confirmed Strep A scarlet fever cases in Essex. North Primary School in Colchester has an outbreak with three cases, and is continuing as normal with hygiene measures in place. Most cases are mild, but sadly 15 children in the UK have died from invasive Strep A since September. BBC Essex speaks to Chontelle Gosling from Brightlingsea, whose 12-year old son Sunnie Taylor had Strep A in July, as well as Alan Garnett who is the headteacher at North Primary.
