'It's a small but worrying number'

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

The Public Health Agency (PHA) is asking parents to be vigilant after a 'small but worrying number' of deaths in the under 10's linked to the bacterial infection Strep A. At least nine children across the UK are now known to have died from complications linked to the bacteria since September - though most cases are mild and treatable with antiobiotics. Leicestershire Director of Public Health Mike Sandys explains why he thinks we're seeing an increase in the number of cases.
