Dame Barbara husband Scott Mitchell was 26 years younger when they met in Kemptown, Brighton. Nobody thought it would last but there was a connection that lasted a lifetime. Their biggest challenge was never the age gap. It was Barbara’s devastating diagnosis with Alzheimer’s.
