Care home resident's poetry published

Dave Monk

Available for over a year

Joan Vicente was diagnosed with dementia three years ago. She writes poetry to help her deal with it, and she's been surprised to learn that some of that poetry is set to be published! This is all thanks to the help of her care home, Howard Lodge, part of St Michael's Homes in Kelvedon Hatch. Joan's work is being published in a book which will feature a collection of her work. BBC Essex speaks to Joan, along with her daughter Sally Ahmet, and Home Manager at Howard Lodge, Lin Kirby.
