Victims Commissioner: Stalking 'gets into your mind you're watched constantly'

Kath Stanczyszyn

Available for over a year

It's 10 years since stalking became a specific crime in England and Wales. The Prime Minister at the time, David Cameron, described stalking as "an abhorrent crime" which "makes life a living hell for the victims". Nationally, the BBC’s Shared Data Unit found charge rates have fallen from 11% to 6% between 2020-2022. Nicky Brennan is the Victims Commissioner for the West Midlands and gave her reaction to the findings.
