UK’s first underground 'super-bin' installed in Liverpool

Liverpool’s and the UK’s first underground 'super-bin' programme comes into operation today. They'll be rolled out over the next two years, with 90 sites identified for installation. The city council believes it will reduce the problem of bin bags spilling out on to streets and blighting neighbourhoods. Liverpool's Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Councillor Liam Robinson, explains how they'll work.
