Parents fight for home to school transport

Alun Newman

Available for over a year

Parents of children with extra needs say planned changes to home to school transport are causing them anxiety. To save nearly one million pounds a year, Hampshire County Council has decided more children will use pick up points, with some sharing of transport with mainstream schools. But parents say the system is already disorganised and not fit for purpose after many of them were left with no transport at the start of this academic year. Hampshire county council says it needs to save money but will put the children's needs first.
