Queen Elizabeth II’s death proclaimed to her bees

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

The Royal Beekeeper, John Chappel, has told Queen Elizabeth II's bees that their owner has died. This superstition of informing bees about significant changes dates back centuries. It was said that failing to do so can have a negative effect on their behaviour, their honey production and their health. Lesley Gasson from North Dorset Bee Keepers Association has told us that talking to your bees is an important thing to do.
