Students celebrate GCSE success

Trish Adudu on BBC CWR

Available for over a year

Year 11 pupils across Coventry and Warwickshire received their GCSE results. It was the first time that any of them had had real in-person exams for two years because of the pandemic. But overall, 73.2% of this year's GCSEs were marked at grades 4 (C) and above - this pass rate is down from 2021 when grades were based on teachers' assessments. However it is still significantly higher than in 2019, the last year exams were sat before Covid when it was 67.3% BBC CWR's Trish Adudu was at Coventry College where she spoke to students and staff and also spoke to Michael Hanton who is the Executive Director of Strategy at Coventry-based Ofqual - which regulates qualifications, examinations, and assessments in England.
