New Creatives

Available for over a year

A spoken word poem capturing the author’s personal struggle with the overwhelming anxiety of getting out of bed and facing the world. The piece captures issues of the time such as the constant, gnawing exposure our generation has to news on global traumas as well as issues closer to home; such as the unexpected deaths of friends and loved ones. With an honest depiction of the strife and battle of grief this poem balances the reality of the inner turmoil so many young people are struggling to overcome with my optimistic nature and drive to inspire those around me for a more fulfilling existence (through the arts, nature and love for one another). It is a battle to dredge oneself out of a harrowing head space, to reflect on the beauty and wonder of the world, to live fully for those who didn’t make it into 2021. The first step out of isolation is getting out of bed... New Creatives is supported by Arts Council England and BBC Arts. Natasha Luetchford: Writer and Performer. Dedicated in the memory of Freddie Taylor, a talented spinner of words
