Why Portland's Olympic rings shouldn't still be standing

Ten years ago, the greatest sporting show on earth arrived on the doorstep of Weymouth and Portland. One of the most iconic reminders of Portland's role in the 2012 games is the Olympic rings sculpture. Sitting on top of the island, overlooking the sailing academy, it was created by a team of local skilled craftspeople from Portland company Albion Stone. Today, it attracts visitors from far and wide, keen to capture the perfect shot of the rings with Chesil Beach in the background. But the sculpture shouldn't actually still be here.
