Three Currys employees told MP to 'stand by Boris'

Colin Murray

Available for over a year

Daniel Kawczynski has said he would remain loyal to an embattled Boris Johnson, saying three Currys employees told him to stand by the Prime Minister while he was buying a vacuum cleaner. The Conservative representative of Shrewsbury and Atcham told Colin Murray on BBC Radio 5 Live he had had the exchange whilst visiting the store at the weekend. "I've never come across people coming up to me in an electrical store asking me to support any other Prime Minister that I've come across," he told the presenter. Johnson is set to quit as party leader but hopes to stay at PM until autumn to allow a leadership contest to be held and a successor appointed.
