Warwick Dad of England footballer Jess Carter says it's been a 'whirlwind'

CWR Breakfast with Phil Upton

Available for over a year

The dad of Warwick footballer Jess Carter says her rise to being an England footballer has been a 'whirlwind'. England play their opening match of the Women's European Championship against Austria in front of a sellout crowd at Old Trafford tonight. Jess Carter is part of the squad playing in Manchester tonight, but she started her passion for football growing up in Warwick. She began playing in boys teams because there weren't enough girls to make up a squad, but her talent was soon spotted. Now at the age of 24 she plays for Chelsea and has been picked for the national side ahead of the home Euros. Her Dad Chris Carter has been telling BBC CWR he and their whole family are very proud.
