ASLEF train staff to strike on 1 July.

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

More than 90% of Greater Anglia train services will not run on Saturday 1 July, due to strike action by members of ASLEF - the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen. Trains will only call at mainline stations - and far less frequently. Stations on branch lines such as Clacton, Braintree, South Woodham Ferrers and Harwich won't be served at all. BBC Essex hears from Nigel Gibson, the District Organiser for ASLEF in the Essex region, Jonathan Denby who is head of corporate affairs at Greater Anglia, as well as Essex residents whose journeys into London on Saturday are affected, including a ticket-holder who's hoping to attend a Guns N' Roses concert.
