Andrew's relieved to be back with Mum, after he tests negative following Covid

Andrew Edwards

Available for over a year

Andrew's relieved to be back with Carolyn after a nasty bout of Covid. He tests negative on Sunday evening, so feels confident spending his usual day with Mum on the Monday. He reflects how hard the virus has hit him, as a fully jabbed, healthy man in his mid-50s. This underlines how grateful he is that Mum (vulnerable and in her mid-80s) has stayed virus free through the pandemic. He pays tribute to the carers and is relieved that, under the council's new contracts, Mum looks likely to stay with her current care provider. He also talks about the vital importance of good care. Twice in a week, while he was ill, carers contacted him to discuss problems and agree the best way forward. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on BBC Radio Leeds.
