Priti Patel: '1000 more police officers in West Midlands'

Paul Franks

Available for over a year

The Home Secretary has been in the West Midlands launching a new recruitment campaign for police officers. The government says it’s 68% of the way towards a promise to recruit 20,000 new bobbies across the country but critics say it’ll still mean there are fewer officers than there were in 2010, more than a thousand fewer in the case of the West Midlands. Hear Priti Patel tell reporter Rob Mayor what the plans are here in the West Midlands for policing at the Commonwealth Games.
