‘Writing it down and making it official just felt too painful’

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

The physical and emotional challenges of IVF never fade from your memory - whatever the outcome. But what happens when you have been lucky enough to have a child or children through the process and you still have frozen embryos in storage you are certain you will not use? None of the choices you face are easy – to donate to another couple in need, or to science, to let them be discarded or continue to preserve them. BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour hears from two women – Jane and Rachel - who have come to different conclusions on what is the right path forward for them.
