BBC Essex reveals the Charity Commission has started investigating PARC - the Essex children's charity which helps youngsters with disabilities and special educational needs - which closed down without warning. PARC supports more than 500 families across Essex and Suffolk. A Charity Commission spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that we have an ongoing regulatory compliance case involving Parc, to examine concerns about the charity’s governance and financial management. We are aware of reports that the charity has wound down its activities.” BBC Essex speaks to James Cleverly, Foreign Office Minister and the MP for Braintree where the PARC centre is based, near Great Notley.
