News of possible Everton takeover

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

News surrounding a possible takeover at Everton has taken a step forward. The Daily Telegraph are reporting that a consortium led by former Chelsea and Manchester United CEO Peter Kenyon, has secured an exclusivity agreement for talks over buying the club. Kenyon is leading a group including wealthy US-based businessmen Maciek Kaminski and John Thornton, the group have so far declined to comment. If correct, it means that the group can hold detailed talks with Everton’s current majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and carry out due diligence on the club. The paper is also reporting talks are positive with Kaminski providing the greatest financial weight behind the bid. Kieran Maguire is a Football Finance Expert from the University of Liverpool's management school.
