"Not safe" to cycle in Essex

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

Experienced cyclists have told BBC Essex that they do not feel safe on the county's roads, with some saying they've stopped cycling on them altogether. This comes just a month before Ride London - a leading UK cycle race - graces Essex roads. BBC Essex speaks to Laura Laker, a cycling and walking journalist from East London who has stopped cycling on Essex's roads after too many close calls, and Russell Tribley who is chairman and club coach at the Chelmer Cycling Club.
