Kirill Karabits is the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's chief conductor. He was born in Kyiv and studied at the National Tchaikovsky Music Academy. His mother and his sister are still living in Kyiv. He told BBC Radio Solent's Lucy Ambache that amongst the fighting and uncertainty in his home country, it's important to celebrate Ukrainian culture.
