£30 million Shakespeare North theatre in Prescot

Merseyside's 30 million pound Shakespeare North theatre has revealed it will open to the public in July with a world class opening programme of shows. The Playhouse in Prescot will become the only 17th-century style timber theatre outside London and is expected to attract 140 thousand visitors a year. Highlights include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Christmas Carol and audiences with Johnny Vegas and Jimmy McGovern.
