Eddie Izzard's support raises £10,000 for veteran's running campaign

A support video from comedian and marathon runner Eddie Izzard has helped a Leamington runner raise £10,000 on the first day of his 5,000 mile challenge. Paul Minter, from Leamington Spa, set off from Liverpool on Tuesday 1st March to run around the coast of the UK, and hopes to complete his journey on 4th October. The 34-year-old was given a message of support from actor Eddie Izzard who praised his efforts, as part of BBC CWR's Saturday Surprise feature. CWR presenter Lorna Bailey spoke to Paul after the first day of his challenge.
