Afghanistan: Abdul and family given new life in Waterlooville

Alun Newman

Available for over a year

In August 2021, tens of thousands of refugees were evacuated in a few days when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. The Afghans brought out were in danger because of the work they had done previously with the British government. Many families have been settled in the UK, but thousands still remain in bridging hotels. Abdul and his family are one of the 40 families now living in the South. BBC Radio Solent's political reporter Emily Hudson has been to meet him.
