Toll rise for historic Warburton Bridge in Lymm

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

Plans have been put forward to raise the fee to cross the Warburton Toll bridge in Lymm. It's been 12p since 1890, but a Transport and Works Act order has been submitted to the government by owners Peel Ports, who say the money is needed to pay for improvement works. Around 600 vehicles cross it during it's peak hour of the day. Warrington Council have held an extraordinary meeting on the matter. Hans Mundry is Labour Councillor and cabinet member for transportation, highways and public realm, he was at the meeting.
