FACTBOX: Changes to Lateral Flow Tests

As we get ready to see some changes to the role lateral flow tests play, we're being warned that hospitals in the North West will see increased Covid admissions in the coming weeks. From tomorrow people in England who receive positive lateral flow results for COVID-19, but have no symptoms, will be required to self-isolate immediately, but won’t be required to take a PCR test to confirm it. Daily case numbers for Omicron have now overtaken London and the south east, the previous epicentre. BBC Radio Merseyside's Phil Munns has the facts on what's changing for lateral flows:
