Strictly Come Dancing 2021: Rose lifts the trophy!

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

What a series it has been for the BBC's Strictly Comes Dancing! This series saw two firsts for the programme - with the show's first double male partnership of dancer Johannes Radebe and chef and presenter John Whaite and the first deaf contestant, Rose Ayling-Ellis. They all made the final along with TV Presenter AJ Odudu, although she had to pull-out after tearing a ligament in her right ankle. In the end, it was Rose and her partner Giovanni Pernice who got to lift the golden trophy. The series has stood out for its representation and inclusivity. Nickie Miles Wildin is Artistic Director and CEO of DaDaFest, a Liverpool based charity which supports deaf people in the arts.
