Carolyn has mixed dementia, vascular and Alzheimer's. She's spent three weeks in hospital in 2021 with liver and gallbladder problems. But - after each stay - has recovered and returned home. Son Andrew has therefore been inviting Mum's friends to see her while she's well enough to receive visitors. She's known Jill since they were eleven - 75 years of friendship from high school onwards. They went to dance class together, played badminton on Saturday mornings and Mum was Jill's bridesmaid when she married in 1960.
